ABOUT US

AFIRD, established in 1997 by a group of professionals recognizing the necessity for a comprehensive approach to rural development, amalgamated their expertise to enhance the nation's progress. Officially recognized as an NGO in 1998 with registration No: S 5914/2404 and Certificate No: 2222, it has the authority to operate across all regions of Uganda.
The organization is dedicated to promoting integrated and inclusive socio-economic growth by advocating for ecological farming within communities. AFIRD's initiatives are guided by a strategic plan outlining its course.
With a nationwide scope, AFIRD's current projects are concentrated in the areas of Wakiso, Mpigi, and Mukono districts.
In its new strategic direction, AFIRD's efforts will concentrate on four core areas: the Farmer-led Development Programme, Youth Empowerment Programme, Advocacy & Lobbying Programme, and Institutional Development to enhance the organization's internal structure alignment.

Vision

AFIRD envisages a society free from hunger and disease living in a peaceful and green environment.
