Institutional Development Program (IDP)
Strategic Objective: To develop a relevant, dynamic and inspiring organization that is increasingly and flexibly living up to its principles.
Background

AFIRD's Institutional Development (ID) strategic objective is to develop a relevant, dynamic, and inspiring organization that lives up to its principles. The previous strategic direction (2017-2021) focused on six key result areas, achieving successes such as introducing medical insurance and reviewing the salary structure. However, challenges like COVID-19 and limited funding hindered the implementation of some activities.
Strategies
To achieve its ID strategic objective, AFIRD has identified six key result areas with specific activities:
-
Governance: Establish functional governance structures, ensure regular board meetings, and develop governance policies.
-
Human Resource Development: Strengthen HRD by reviewing and implementing HR policies, developing staff roles and responsibilities, and providing training and development opportunities.
-
Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation: Enhance planning, monitoring, and evaluation by streamlining the department, recruiting an M&E staff, and intensifying data-driven decision-making.
-
Financial Management and Resource Mobilization: Diversify funding sources, improve financial management, and develop a resource mobilization strategy
-
Knowledge Management: Strengthen knowledge management by developing a knowledge management strategy, documenting activities, and sharing information through digital technology.
-
Public Relations: Enhance public relations by developing a communication strategy, improving online presence, and engaging in corporate social responsibility activities.
Key Result Areas
The six key result areas are:
-
Effective governance structures
-
Competent and motivated staff
-
Data-driven decision-making
-
Adequate funding and resource management
-
Improved knowledge management
-
Enhanced public relations and reputation
Conclusion
AFIRD's Institutional Development strategic objective aims to strengthen the organization's capacity to achieve its mission. By focusing on the six key result areas and implementing the identified activities, AFIRD can improve its governance, human resource development, planning, financial management, knowledge management, and public relations, ultimately enhancing its overall effectiveness and reputation.
