Increasing environmentally friendly production among selected schools, prisons and households in Wakiso and Mpigi districts, Uganda

 The project seeks to address environmental illiteracy, which is a common challenge in schools, prisons and communities in the project area. 

​

Promotion of Sustainable Agriculture in Kakiri, Mende, Masulita Sub counties and Gombe Division in Wakiso District

The project is reaching out to 650 direct beneficiary in from the project representing 650 households each with an average of 7 members per household hence a total of 4,530 project beneficiaries.

A Calliandra Sp. band established in the

Integrated Land Use Designs/Permaculture Project

​

With funds from Tudor Trust Uk, AFIRD is implementing a permaculture project among 15 schools in Wakiso district.

​

We aim at building the capacity of the young in rural primary schools to contribute towards their local communities and environmental resiliency through demonstrating ILUD/permaculture practices.

Bio slurry Business Case Project

​

AFIRD and Biogas Solutions Uganda with funds from SNV and HIVOS  are creating awareness of Bio gas and bio slurry benefits to different farming communities, community-based organizations, farmer groups and other stakeholders across the country with an objective of promoting clean cooking, increasing farm productivity, improving home sanitation and saving the environment by reducing the destruction of forests.
